The roaring 20's
The Roaring 20's was an economic boom period that had a positive effect on the daily lives of many (but not all Americans). New technologies such as the automobile,airplanes, radios, and new appliances improved peoples' lives. However, some such as sharecroppers, farmers, and underpaid factory workers were not able to enjoy this rising standard of living.
The first car
The first car was made during the Roaring 20s it made it easier for people to get around faster and it didn't limit where they could live. This also led to drive ends,roads and bridges.
Sharecropper
A sharecropper is a farmer who worked for a big farmer on his land. They live in a cabin that is provide and they also get free seeds. But they have to give half of the crop they harvest to the big farmer.
Langston Hughes
Langston Hughes was a famous artist know for his poetry.
Prohibition
Prohibition- a complete ban of the sale on aclohol.
Bootleggers
Bootleggers were people that sold alcohol in the Roaring 20s illegally.
Speaker easy
Speaker easy is a night club or an illicit liquor store.
Poison
People like bootleggers sold liquor that was really poison because it was not made well and offen killed people.
Jazz
Jazz was a type of music genre that uses swings and beats and instruments such as the saxophone and the trumpet.

Bessie Smith
Bessie Smith is a jazz artist who created music like: down hearted blues, gimme a pig foot, and after you've gone. Bessie smith contributed to the Blues by being a singer and a musician.
Louis Armstrong
Louis Armstrong was a jazz musician that contributed to his genre by being a singer and a famous trumpet player. He wrote songs like Baby it's cold outside and hello dolly.
The 19th amendment
The 19th amendment was passed in 1920 giving all the women the right to vote. It was a result of the contributions women made during the Great War.
The Harlem Renasissance
The harlem Renaissance was a period when African Americans moved to Harlem, New York. They wanted to share their feelings about how it is to be black. They also wanted to end discrimination. They expressed their feelings through their art.
The radio
The radio was invented by Guglielmo Marconi.
Mass media
Mass media helped businesses by their ads on the radio and on air. Once people herd this they would want to buy it.
The radio jumping into American Culture
The radio became a part of the American Culture by broadcasting things on the air like the selling products,sports and music. They also broadcasted shows like "RADIOGUY.COM"
