Lunch Visitors- REMINDER
Just a reminder- Lunch visitors must sign up on the Sign Up Genius (located on Chandler's Webpage) at least 24 hours in advance to be able to come eat with their child. This helps us to manage the amount of visitors coming each day. It also will let the teacher know that your child has a lunch visitor so that they send them to the correct place at lunchtime. Thank you for your help with this matter.
- Parents are welcome to eat lunch with their own children in a designated area.
We do have specific days in which we ask for no lunch visitors.
We also do not allow parents to join their students for lunch on state testing days.
When you arrive for lunch, you will need to sign in with the receptionist and then proceed to the MPR (multi-purpose room)
For security purposes and to avoid hurt feelings of other students, only your own children will be allowed to sit with you.
You are welcome to bring in an outside meal for your student and/or yourself only.
If purchasing a tray, please have your child order your meal at the beginning of the day in order to have enough food prepared.
We will have expectations that need to be followed, and at no time will lunch visitors be allowed to go in the cafeteria.

Nurse's Notes
Feeling Sick...?
As always keep your child home if he/she has:
- Fever of 100.0 or greater
- Diarrhea
Notify the school nurse and keep your child home if he/she has:
Signs and symptoms of COVID-19 compatible illness:
- ✓ At least two of the following: Fever, chills, rigors, myalgia, headache, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, congestion, or runny nose
- ✓ At least one of the following: Cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, new olfactory disorder, new taste disorder AND no alternative is more likely.
If your child shows any of those symptoms at school, they will be sent home.
Your child may return to school after general illness if they are:
- Fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication
- Diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use of diarrhea suppression medication
Your child may return to school after COVID-19 compatible symptoms when they:
- Receive a negative molecular or antigen COVID-19 lab test OR
- Ten days have passed since symptom onset and 24 hours fever free without fever suppressing medication and symptoms have improved OR
- Submit a Healthcare Provider note outlining the illness is not related to COVID-19 with an alternate diagnosis and you are allowed to return to work.
Your child can child return to school after a COVID-19 diagnosis or a lab confirmation of COVID-19 when:
- 10 days have passed since symptom onset, symptoms have improved and the child has been fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever suppressing medication
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Acellular Pertussis (Tdap)
- Meningococcal (must be documented on the vaccine record as one of the following: MCV4, Menactra, Menveo, or MenACWY) Must be given on or after the 11th birthday.
Without these immunizations, your child will not be able to start school next year. We have had reports every year that those shots are scarce over the summer with so many children needing them, so the earlier, the better. If your student has had these immunizations, please turn in the documentation to the Chandler school nurse. I can enter those records into your child’s records. This will make the transition and registration process for 7 th grade much easier.
There will be several general reminders sent out over the next few weeks. You can verify your child’s vaccines in Skyward. If you have already submitted these records, please disregard this notice.
Please let me know if you have any questions
Don’t Forget!
Some of our younger students occasionally have restroom accidents and they need to change clothes. Please remember to send a complete change of clothes (shirt, pants/shorts, underwear and socks) in their backpack for those times, so students can change and quickly get back to class. Thanks for your help!
