October

October is the toughest month of the year for every school around the country. Keep your chin up and work it through-this too shall pass.

3 reasons why October can be a challenging month for teachers

1) The optimism that comes from having a fresh start at back to school has faded.

2) There are a lot of full workweeks between now and the holidays.

3) The end of the school year seems impossibly far away.

3 strategies to help you beat the beat the October blues

1) Start by recognizing that you’re thinking way too far ahead.

2) Stop comparing your present reality to what you had hoped this school year would be like.

3) Actively look for ways to find and emphasize the good stuff

Family Picnic

During first period of the day your grade family picnic is, I need for you to send a count of students and parents needing a sack lunch to the cafeteria. Ask your kids, write the 2 numbers down-parents____, students _____. The counts were low and we want to be sure to have enough. Send the count to Kim Reynolds in the cafeteria by 9:00. If you do not have a first period, you do not have to take a count. Thank you so much for your help.
