Lincoln memorial
The famous Lincoln Memorial was built to honor the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln. The construction took place between 1914 and 1922. It was painted by Daniel Chester French and carved by the Piccirilli brothers.
Vietnam Women's Memorial
This is a statue of 3 women with a injured soldier. This statue was built to honor American Women who served in the Vietnam War. It was designed by Glenna Goodacre and built on November 11, 1993.
US Capitol
The US Capitol was built as a symbol of the American people and their government. It is a working office building and is a tourist attraction visited by many people for many years. The construction of the Capitol began in 1793. It was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted
Air and Space Museum
The Air and Space museum holds the largest collection of historic aircraft and spacecraft in the world. Almost all space and aircraft on display are originals.
American History Museum
The American History Museum displays the heritage of the United States in the areas of social, political, cultural, scientific and military history.
Arlington National Cemetery
The Arlington National Cemetery honors those who have served the nation. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery stands atop a hill overlooking Washington, D.C. Audie Murphy was an american legend. He was one of the most decorated heroes of World War II. The base of the USS Maine represents the turret of a battleship. Around the sides of the turret are inscribed the names of all who lost their lives in the disaster.
White House
The White House is the residence and the workplace of the President of the United States. The house was designed by Irish-born James Hoban and built between 1792 and 1800. In 2007, it was ranked second on the American Institute of Architects list of "America's Favorite Architecture".
The National Zoo
The National Zoo is a famous zoo housing thousands of animals, located on connecticut Ave. Washington DC. You can find lions, bears, elephants, otters, monkeys, bob cats, cheetahs, pandas, wolves, seals, hogs, armadillos, sloths, gorillas, lemurs, etc... at the National Zoo.
