Independent Study Guidelines for Students who are Quarantined
In our September 22, 2021 Community Update, we informed you that new state guidelines require that we have parent/guardian approval for their child to continue their education and earn attendance credit when their child is out of school for quarantine, via a signed Independent Studies Agreement.
Currently, students on quarantine are marked absent, but once parents/guardians approve for their student to participate in independent study during quarantine, the student will begin to generate positive attendance as they complete and submit their assignments on Canvas to help them keep up academically with their classmates. To facilitate this process, we are asking that you approve one Independent Studies Agreement for the full school year that will serve for any short-term period that your child may need to be out of school on required quarantine.
If you have not yet done so, please view this link. You will only need to verify that the information is correct and approve the agreement.
Upon approval, you will receive an automated reply with a full copy of the contract and the guidelines that we will follow to provide ongoing learning and support and attendance credit.

Work Permits: Important Reminders!
If you are currently employed and have obtained your work permit, the minimum GPA requirement of 2.0 will now be implemented. If you do not meet the GPA requirement by the next grading period, please be aware, you will be in jeopardy of having your work permit revoked. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Faraimo
Seniors: Fill out the FAFSA or Dream Act Application!
All seniors are encouraged to do this, regardless of family income status. All too often, students hesitate to apply for college because they think it is cost-prohibitive, and on the flip side, some students think their family makes "too much" to qualify for any financial aid. Frequently, this is not the case. MVHS encourages ALL seniors to fill out the FAFSA or DreamAct application to find out what financial aid for college exists for them.
Weekly COVID Cases on Campus
During the past week (since last Friday), MVHS had 0 new cases of COVID-19 among students/staff.
School community members can also follow up-to-the-minute data on our District's COVID-19 Dashboard.
