Great Things!
Thank you to Tressie for pickup drinks and snacks to restock us! So helpful!
We celebrated our bus drivers and monitors last Monday. They had a fun time making s'mores; for some it was their first s'more ever!
Thank you to the sunshine committee for providing a yummy fried chicken dinner on Tuesday during P/T conferences!
Lead and Hemo day went well on Tuesday! Thank you to Chelsea and Laura for shuttling kids and consoling them after their experience.
Gayle was so helpful on Wednesday; she took all of the donated school supplies down to the conference room, and packed up our s'more making supplies for me! Thank you so much Gayle!
Sarah J's class had a glow party on Thursday! The kids had so much fun dancing in the dark with the glow sticks!
Bailey and Vivian visited us! So nice to see Bailey and get to meet Vivian.
We had a day off! Woo Hoo!
Challenge: Positive Intent
This week, let's practice our positive intent. Focus on the Power of Love, and see the best in others. Positive intent integrates the brain and produces oxytocin, increasing trust, safety, and moral behavior. Some days are harder than others; try to focus on this -this week. If you need a refresher, you can refer to Chapter 9 in CD:Building Resilient Classrooms. Try wishing each other well and seeing the best in others rather than taking it personally or complaining about someone else.

Dress Code Reminder
Professional Dress
All staff members are expected to be well groomed and neatly dressed at all times. All attire should be modest and appropriate for school. The following is not allowed:

● Tank tops, halter tops, cut-off tops, and spaghetti straps.
● Clothing exposing the navel, cleavage, backs and midriffs.
● Undergarments should not be visible
● Leggings, tights or leotards worn as slacks.
● Any clothing with tears or holes.
● Shower shoes/slides
● Skirts, dresses, and shorts which are no more than two (2) inches above the knee.
Staff is required to wear his/her District I.D. at all times.
Staff may wear jeans on Fridays; if jeans are worn, they should be worn with a High Grove, Early Childhood, or District T-Shirt/Polo/Shirt. (College shirts, Sports team shirts, etc. are not allowable on these days-unless designated as a Spirit Day). Colored jeans (i.e. green, red, pink) may be worn with a nice blouse/top on Mond, Tues, Wed, or Thursday. Camouflage pants should not be worn to school and do not count as “colored pants/jeans”.Speech and Language Tip of the Week: (continued from short week)
Make an effort to work on 2-step directions. Look at the abilities of each child to see if it would be better to work on related directions or unrelated directions. For related directions, make sure the directions go together (Get the red crayon and put it on the table. Get your coat and line up.). For unrelated directions, the directions should not go together (Touch your head then turn around. Turn in a circle and then go touch the door.) For kids that have a difficult time waiting to hear all directions before starting, hold their hands in yours and don’t let go until all directions are given.
Fine Motor Tip of the Week: (continued from short week)
Play with containers:
Place several different lunch containers, jars, etc. in a basket, bin, or sensory table. Remove the lids and mix them up. Have your students find matching lids. They will be working their fine motor skills as they twist and snap on lids to the correct containers.
