Thank you to everyone who has signed up to be a guest reader this month! There are still many spots open until the end of February. Please let me know if you are interested and I'll send you the link.

What did we learn this week?

Reading: We finished our author study on Mo Willems. The students did guided drawings of Elephant and Piggy which are displayed in our hallway. They turned out SO cute!

Writing: The students are continuing to draw two pictures and write two sentences on their own. We talked about staying on topic with multiple sentences. We are going to begin our opinion writing next week. We are learning about opinion writing through "Book Reviews."

Phonics: We learned the poem "Valentine's Day" and the students found rhyming and HFW. We learned the new HFW "will."

Math: We continued to talk about addition and subtraction up to 5. We began practicing the difference between "plus" and "minus."
