Thesis
In the Documentary Black fish directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite she successfully shows emotion distress being took from the wild, being isolated in a certain amount of space and the effects of the whales on trainers by showing them being separated by their mothers and interviewing past trainers that worked with Tilikum.
Whales being moved
This image shows when they are removing the baby whale away from the ocean. This can cause emotional stress towards the whale by transferring them to a different habitat that they are used to.
Isolation
Gabriela Cowperthwaite showed that whales in the wild have more freedom to get around and are able to swim freely such as animals at Sea-World are more stable in a certain amount of space.
Whale vs. Whale
The director also displayed whales being hurt under water by other whales in the facility. Many of the whales would beat on the young and smaller whales that arrived into Sea World.
Whales attacking trainers
By showing this image the whales finally had a enough and let their stress out on the trainers. It would make you come to believe that all of the anger of the past life, other whales attacking each other and the trainers not rewarding them when doing something good can make the whale frustrated. Now that the trainer doesn't reward them the whale feels that they can take on the trainer since they are way smaller then a whale.
Conclusion
In conclusion the Documentary Black fish directed by Gabriela Cowperthwaite she successfully shows emotion distress being took from the wild, being isolated in a certain amount of space and the effects of the whales on trainers by showing them being separated by their mothers and interviewing past trainers that worked with Tilikum. i strongly agree that Black fish shows and teaches you Sea World was trying to hide how they get their whales and treat them. The documentary impacted me because it makes you feel sad not just the trainers getting hurt but for the whales. The whales have feelings also which should be carefully watched by the trainers.
