What they will be building...
The RoboArena program is designed to incorporate students who will form multiple teams to work with 16 to 20 small robots (approximately 10" to 12" square). Student teams will be required to make their robots complete a specific function and then compete against other student/ robot teams in a game that borrows from basketball, football and volleyball. Each will build a robot that must be designed to shoot a golf ball sized object into a goal, a defending robot (or robots) to act as a goalie, and a robot that will act as a ball delivery mechanism to the shooting robot. The RoboArena program includes elements of design, fabrication, electronics, programming and 3D printing and the all important element of play to garner the engagement and enthusiasm of young people!
