7th Grade Peer Leaders discussing goals with our 6th grade students
Our Peer Leaders are trained to work with the 6th grade students to have small group discussions about student success plans and to go over learning style preference results.
Six to seven Peer Leaders worked in each classroom during PLC.
With the Peer Leaders we are able to break down a large group of 22+ into small groups of three, four or five. These small groups allow some individual time for each 6th grade student to learn from each other in student-led discussion groups.
Peer to peer teaching is very powerful.
The Peer Leaders act as role models and motivators to the 6th grade students. Learning from a Peer Leader can be more meaningful than learning from an adult. The Peer Leaders share their experiences and strategies for goal setting, study skills, homework importance and for understanding how each person learns differently.

After the discussion group a follow-up survey was sent to your student, checking for understanding and to provide some feed back. Ask your student if they filled out this survey, if not they are more then welcome to here, or in our Google Classroom.
