BY__ Edgar Allan Poe
In the Tell Tale Heart there is a maid who works for an old man. He doesn't like his creepy crow eye so for 7 nights he sits in wait in the hallway and tries to go in the room but doesn't. On the 8th night he decides to go in the room finally, when he sticks his head in the room and the old man wakes up. Telling himself that "It is nothing but the wind in the chimney""it is only a mouse crossing the floor,". The maid sits in silence for an hour until he jumps on the bed and then smothers the old man with his mattress. Then cuts up the body and puts the legs, arms, and head under the floorboards with the torso. When the police arrive at the door he shows them the house then they too long and he gets paranoid then admits to the crime of murdering the old man by saying"dissemble no more! I admit the deed! --tear up the planks! here, here! --It is the beating of his hideous heart!".
