American History 1
We have arrived at Unit 3. Seriously? Already?
There are several lessons designed for this unit. This one looks at the economic and political conflicts President Washington addressed during his terms in office. The lesson is differentiated between standard and honors classes.
The Teaching American History American Presidents book has a back and forth argument between Hamilton and Madison over the issue of neutrality in reference to the fighting between France and Britain. It starts on page 37.

Message from Melissa
I hope everyone had a great weekend. We are moving right along and it seems like the threat of winter weather is behind us for good. Rain, now that is another story.
Thank you to those that came out to the Balanced Literacy TDR session last week. I hope it was helpful.
There is still a long haul before Spring Break. But, let's keep positive. There are a lot of amazing things happening in our Social Studies classrooms around the district. You all work really hard. Please keep us informed of the good things you are doing. It is easy to be overwhelmed. But, a "that was great" or "thank you" sometimes makes all the difference.
If there is a lesson or reading activity that you would like help with, please let me know. I am always happy to help. The more resources we develop together and share, the less work there is for everyone.
Have a great week!
Melissa
