Congratulations to Tawanka for winning Best Teamwork at the Bucks County regional STEM Design Challenge!

MORE STEM

Thank you to Ms. Katie Burke and our AE all-stars who represented Tawanka last night at the district STEAM Expo. Their chair designs stood up strong to whoever sat in them. And the K’nex robots were impressive. Well done!!!

And a Neshaminy robot? Who knew…….

KINDERGARTEN

Kindergarten celebrated Earth Day with 2 special presentations.


Mrs. Hoffman from Waste Management showed Kindergarten children what is OK and not OK to recycle.

Miss Dawn from the library shared a book about earth and many songs to complement this special day!

FIRST GRADE

First grade classes went on a field trip to see a play, Rosie Revere, Engineer at the Keswick Theater. Classes have been reading the book series, Ada Twist, Scientist, Iggy Peck, Architect, and Rosie Revere. Engineer which compliment the first grade Science curriculum. The play Rosie Revere Engineer was based on these stories. When the classes returned, they enjoyed a picnic lunch.

SECOND GRADE

Second grade is exploring and identifying different types of seeds.They are working together as plant botanists to discover why seeds are important to us and our basic needs.

THIRD GRADE

3rd graders are doing Science experiments with the "Drop Tank".

TAWANKA SERVICE CLUB

A special thanks for those that purchased a “Kiss the Cast” at our Tawanka’s Got Talent event. Due to the sales of the kisses, our Tawanka Service Club was able to make a donation to SPCA of $59.50!!!! Thanks to all that helped make this possible.

ART SHOW

Hundreds of parents and students packed the halls of Tawanka to view the fabulous art work done by our students!! We have so many talented students in our building!

There was even a glow in the dark room!

Thank you to Miss Katie Houser for all of the hard work you put in to get the art show ready to go.

CAREER DAY

Tawanka celebrated Career Day with an array of professionals who came in and spoke to the different grades. Some examples of the professions the children got to learn about are: SWAT, EMT Corrections Officer, Air Force, Cosmetologist, Paralegal, Surveyor, Electrician, Veterinarian,Radio Journalist, Manufacturing.

Tawanka thanks everyone who took time from their busy schedules to explain the many different career opportunities that are available!

PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Tawanka students are preparing for field day by practicing some of the relay races in the gym this week.

SUNSET CHALLENGE

The Sunset Challenge is fast approaching. Tawanka is currently in 1st place! We have more registrants than any other school so far. We want to keep it that way, so please click on the link below and register now. Register your children, your parents, your grandparents, your neighbors, your pets. Every registrant is a point for Tawanka. The money goes to a great cause, so register even if you can’t attend the event. The Sunset Challenge is Friday May 10th at 6:45 at Maple Point Middle School. This is going to be a huge party! There will be music and refreshments. You can walk, jog or run in the 2K or the 5K. Don’t want to walk, jog or run? No worries! Just go and cheer on the participants and enjoy a night out with the family and the Neshaminy community. As an added incentive, the Tawanka homeroom with the most registrants wins 40 minutes of extra time in the gym! Help your child’s homeroom win by registering now.

TAWANKA SAFETY PROCEDURES

With the changing world in which we live, Tawanka has set in place STRICT safety procedures.


All visitors MUST scan their driver's license in the Kiosk when they enter the visitor's door.


All clearances MUST be on file in the office to attend any in-school activity during school hours including class activities, field day and field trips. Click on the link below to view info on how to obtain your clearances.

FIELD DAY

Field day is Friday May 17th. Just a few friendly reminders:

Field Day is NOT open to the public. All parent volunteers MUST be signed up ahead of time to attend and have ALL of their clearances on file in the office. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Have your child wear his/her team color shirt. Wear sneakers, please remember to wear sunscreen.
