LOTS TO CELEBRATE!!
Way to go!!!
Thank you to Ms. Katie Burke and our AE all-stars who represented Tawanka last night at the district STEAM Expo. Their chair designs stood up strong to whoever sat in them. And the K’nex robots were impressive. Well done!!!
And a Neshaminy robot? Who knew…….
Mrs. Hoffman from Waste Management showed Kindergarten children what is OK and not OK to recycle.
Miss Dawn from the library shared a book about earth and many songs to complement this special day!
First grade classes went on a field trip to see a play, Rosie Revere, Engineer at the Keswick Theater. Classes have been reading the book series, Ada Twist, Scientist, Iggy Peck, Architect, and Rosie Revere. Engineer which compliment the first grade Science curriculum. The play Rosie Revere Engineer was based on these stories. When the classes returned, they enjoyed a picnic lunch.
Second grade is exploring and identifying different types of seeds. They are working together as plant botanists to discover why seeds are important to us and our basic needs.
There was even a glow in the dark room!
Thank you to Miss Katie Houser for all of the hard work you put in to get the art show ready to go.
Tawanka thanks everyone who took time from their busy schedules to explain the many different career opportunities that are available!
The Sunset Challenge is fast approaching. Tawanka is currently in 1st place! We have more registrants than any other school so far. We want to keep it that way, so please click on the link below and register now. Register your children, your parents, your grandparents, your neighbors, your pets. Every registrant is a point for Tawanka. The money goes to a great cause, so register even if you can’t attend the event. The Sunset Challenge is Friday May 10th at 6:45 at Maple Point Middle School. This is going to be a huge party! There will be music and refreshments. You can walk, jog or run in the 2K or the 5K. Don’t want to walk, jog or run? No worries! Just go and cheer on the participants and enjoy a night out with the family and the Neshaminy community. As an added incentive, the Tawanka homeroom with the most registrants wins 40 minutes of extra time in the gym! Help your child’s homeroom win by registering now.
