Students have begun chapter 3 and are extending their knowledge of proportions to percents. We will study how to use percents in many real world problems.
In chapter 3 we will be implementing on-line testing through a school district provided program called Illuminate. During chapter 3 students will have two unit tests. The first test will be a take-home test that students may work collaboratively on. This test will be due at the end of the unit. The end of unit test will be done on-line using a district created test and will be in a multiple choice format. Both tests will have equal weighting on the students test.

Our 7th graders are doing well. We have even learned a piece for Christmas! Next week, we will continue to review rhythms we have learned. We will also learn to identify note names on the treble clef staff. On Friday, we will have an in class "performance" of three songs. This performance will count as a performance grade. In addition to showcasing the music we have learned so far, this performance will give students a chance to rehearse performance etiquette. Next week, watch for an at home assignment to make flashcards on the materials we have been studying. Our next test in on October 5.
