Spaulding News
We had a wonderful week here at school. Now that we are in the full swing of the school year, you may notice your child(ren) feeling a bit tired; this is normal as they settle in and build stamina.
Library - We have had some questions regarding the status of the Library. As you know, at the end of the year our Librarian position was eliminated due to budget restructuring. While the students won't have a Library Lesson, we do have a paraprofessional/Library Assistant who will support students checking books out. Fortunately with shifts in grade level staffing, Mrs. McCutcheon was able to return to the Spaulding Team as a Third Grade teacher.
Title I - Annual Parent Meeting
Title I is a federal aid program for schools. The goal of Title I is to ensure a high-quality education for every child, by providing extra help to students who need it most. Title I has three primary objectives:
to improve student achievement for all participating children
to improve staff development
to improve parental and community involvement
For the 2023-2024 school year, Title I funds are being allocated to our three elementary schools, with academic interventionists focusing their efforts on reinforcing early literacy skills.
As part of the grant requirements, a meeting is held each year to explain the program and for families to learn about the service delivery in each school. This year’s meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at 10 am. The meeting will be held virtually in order to provide greater opportunity for participation. If you would like to attend, please register here and a link for the meeting will be sent to you as the date approaches.
