Main Function of the Digestive System
The main function of the Digestive System is to break down food and turn it into energy.
Functions of the Organs
Mouth- Breaks down food and turns it into waste
Stomach- Muscular Organ used to store and digest food
Intestine- Muscular tube in the body through which food and the products of digestion pass
Appendix- No use found
Pancreas- Body organ found in human beings and all animals with backbones

Gallbladder- Stores bile produced by the liver
Diseases in the Gallbladder
Gallbladder cancer is a very rare cancer to get and very easy to cure. It is caused by inflammation in the gallbladder. Treatments are surgery, radiation therapy, and chemotherapy. Other diseases are celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and irritable bowel disease.
Interactions with other systems
The Circulatory System carries blood around the body and the Digestive System carries waste around the body. They both involve the stomach, and the Circulatory System gives the body food and the Digestive System turns food into energy for the body.
