Holland Elementary School Message
January 3, 2020
Hello HES Families,
Happy New Year! I'm fairly certain that most children weren't so excited about returning to school after the winter break. But our first day back was a really good one. The students had a lot more energy than I expected, and they all seemed to enjoy sharing stories about what they did over the break.
Thank you, again, for your generosity during the holiday season to support activities at our school to help those in need. During the month of December, our school community donated 194 items for the Toys for Tots program, the Student Council raised $1,190 for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), and we collected a huge supply of gloves, mittens, and hats on our Mitten Tree to be donated to children who reside in our own community.
Each morning during our announcements, we say, "Holland Hawks are the best!"
Yes, they are.

It is important for parents to update their children's demographic information. Updating demographic information is mandatory for each student you have enrolled in the district and must be completed annually. To update your student’s demographic information:
- Log in to your HAC account,
- Click the Registration icon at the top of the page,
- Navigate to the Update Registration tab,
- Click NEW or start a new form,
- Make any updates necessary for: (a) Student information (b) Student Contact information (c) Your contact information and/or address (d) Medical, Childcare & Other Information (including ability for school nurse to administer Tylenol)
Please contact the Central Registration Department at Registration@CRSD.org with all questions.

Book Buds Reading Program
Do you think your child would benefit from reading a few extra minutes each week? Does your child enjoy spending time with older peers?
Book Buds is a volunteer group of high school students started by two Holland Elementary School (HES) graduates, Julia Levin and Gavin Holloran. We both currently have siblings at HES. Book Buds offers an opportunity for your child to spend time with an energetic and fun high school student at Northampton Township Library in Richboro for 30-minute reading sessions. The high school students will be reading with children who do not typically enjoy independent reading or dislike reading at home to caregivers. This is a chance to make reading a fun activity with a teenage role model. Each session will end with a fun activity customized to your child’s interests.
More information can be found at the followiong LINK.

The Summer 2020 Camp Invention sign-up just opened - secure a spot today! Camp Invention is for children entering grades K-6th.
The location will be at Maureen M. Welch Elementary School (750 New Road, Churchville, PA 18966) from July 6 - 10, 202. The times of the camp will be 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM and the cost is $270 (before discount).
From the Nurse's Office
If your child has been ill, please allow adequate recovery time so that your child does not re-introduce illness at school by returning too early. Please also consider the fact that some children are very fatigued during illness recovery and do need a little extra time at home. Children who have had diarrhea or have been vomiting should remain home for 24 hours symptom-free before returning to school.
We ask that children be free of fever for 24 hours, with NO Tylenol or Motrin during the 24 hours, before returning to school. If unsure, please call the health office to discuss your child’s care.
We wish you all a very happy and healthy New Year.
Thank you. Mrs. Jordan and Mrs. Gaughan
CRSD Girl Up Book Club
Girl Up is a club that promotes women empowerment and donates money to the United Nations Foundation. The club has created book lists for each level of education (K-3, 4-6, 7-8, 9-12), and the theme for the upcoming meeting is Women in STEM.
The club will meet in the library on the evening of January 8, 2020 at the Northampton Library from 6:30-8:00. There will be discussion and interactive games, so it’s a great opportunity for high school, middle school, and elementary school kids to have fun and learn from each other!
All people of all ages are welcome to attend and learn about how women have contributed to the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.
