field day
Field Day is going to be next Friday June 7th on the Walsh Track again. I'm really excited for having an awesome Field Day. I have attached a link to all the logistics and details for this years Field Day. This year's theme is a Carnival. It will be a total of 20 mini-carnival games. The carnival games are spread out in a circle on the track field. In the center is a water and cool down center for kids to get water or if anyone needs a break. At each game is a parent who will help lead the game for your students. Each class will be separated into two groups and will be participating at neighboring games allowing classroom teachers and aides who are out with us to stay with their classes. Students will play for 10 minutes and rotate to the neighboring game, clockwise in a circle. I will facilitate the rotation each time. To promote engagement and behavior, parents will be awarding groups carnival tickets to be turned in at the end for a carnival prize at the end.
If you are a non-classroom teacher and you can come out to help, please do, it would be greatly appreciated!
The first session for the K-2 will start at 9:15am and the second session for 3-5 will be start at 12pm.
For my younger grades who are starting early, if you need to get to the field a bit delayed to allow for students to get settled and finish breakfast then that is totally fine. Find me when you get to the field so I can direct you to where your class is.
Students should bring their water bottles and will be able to refill them throughout at a water station in the middle.
At the end of the carnival, every student will get a freeze pop and we will go through the carnival prizes. If you have students with allergies or cannot have a freeze pop, please email me.
In the link is all details involving the event including the group's your students are in, color shirts for the grades, starting stations and all the carnival games.

Please enter all your data on X2. For the BAS:
For every student you tested, please put their instructional BAS score in X2.
If you happen to also find a student’s independent score, please enter that in X2 as well.
If a student moves from independent to hard (e.g. Level C is independent but Level D is hard), please put the independent level, accuracy, and comprehension score in both the independent and instructional columns.
Ceiling for BAS testing: District direction for the rest of this year is "do not go beyond the end-of-year level for the next grade level.” For Example: In grade 1, you should not exceed level "M" (last level in Grade 2). If you have any question, please ask Brett.
