Student Activity Day (3/3/2021)

Please note that Wednesday, March 3, 2021 is a Student Activity Day. Students will be introduced to the next Habitudes lesson, Hosts and Guests. All students have been assigned to a facilitator and given a link to meet virtually at 11am. Students will be expected to be online around 45 minutes in order to review the new lesson. Additionally, students will be asked to visit each of their Monday/Wednesday course shells (Google Classroom/Canvas) and answer a question related to the lesson. Any student who is scheduled into a college class between 11am and 12pm on Wednesdays will be excused from the activity.

Prior to and after the activity at 11am, we ask that students take time to focus on their wellness. Some ideas include organizing/catching up, getting sunshine and exercise, connecting with friends and family, taking a nap, doing something creative, reading for pleasure, writing in a journal, cooking, or eating a good meal. Of course this is keeping in mind that students are still expected to attend college classes on Wednesday. Enjoy!

SOAR and AVC Spring Break (3/8-12/2021)

SOAR High School and AVC will be taking Spring Break the week of March 8, 2021 to March 12, 2021. There will be NO high school or college classes during this week. Please take this time to relax, enjoy some sunshine, and rejuvenate for a strong finish to the school year!

Attendance

Attendance has a direct correlation to student success! If students miss a high school class for an excusable reason, parents/guardians must email Mrs. Andrews to clear the absence: jandrews@avhsd.org and students must follow up with teachers for assignments. Students should follow up directly with college instructors in the case of an absence. Although we are not on campus, we are still responsible for record keeping. Please make attending both your high school and college classes a priority!

Winning On Excellence

The Girls SOAR High team at SOAR has created a project to promote the emotional, physical, mental, and social health and well-being of students, teachers, staff, and administrators. Students check out Google Classroom or reach out to any Girls SOAR High School member for more details.
