CHS DRAMA CLUB PRESENTS
DON'T TELL THE SECRET
MENACHAP, CALIFORNIA. An incomprehensible event: every person in the audience of a high school play falls unconscious -- every person but one.
Using interviews with witnesses, loved ones, first responders, and the investigators pursuing the case, a theatre ensemble brings the story of the strange event to life, documentary-style. But as the strands weave together into an increasingly dangerous web, it becomes clear that this phenomenon might not be entirely in the past.
Combs Curtain Call is presenting TRAP! by Stephen Gregg on October 14, 15, and 18th at 7 pm
Tickets are $5 for students and $8 for adults. Don't miss out. Scan QR code for Trap tickets.
HOMECOMING PARADE COMMITTEE
The annual Combs High School Homecoming has grown over the years and the community always looks forward to seeing: floats and vehicles featuring local Police & Firefighters, area business owners, student clubs/athletes, the CHS Marching Band, the 2021 Homecoming Court, and much more.
This year’s activities are quickly approaching! The Homecoming Parade is looking for new committee members to help organize and plan for 2021. If you are interested in helping to continue and grow this special event please contact Mr. Laliberte at rlaliberte@jocombs.org
or Dr. Nelson at dnelson@jocombs.org.

COUNSELORS CORNER
Did you know??? Many people seem to think that e-cigarettes/vaping isn't hazardous to their health, but in fact, it can cause many issues. As we focus our Coyote Care Initiative on Substance Abuse this month, we want to get the word out about the risks of vaping. The following links have some great information for both parents and students:
- https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/basic_information/e-cigarettes/Quick-Facts-on-the-Risks-of-E-cigarettes-for-Kids-Teens-and-Young-Adults.html
- https://www.lung.org/getmedia/302f26c0-d4b1-451f-a05a-092a93183b6c/vape-conversation-guide.pdf
Did you know??? Students have until October 22 to register for their AP exams and until October 29 to pay. Students who get free/reduced lunch will have their fees waived, but they need to show proof to receive this. Students who will be paying for their exams need to pay their fee in the bookstore then bring their receipt to Mrs. McDowell in the counseling offices. Students who do not pay will not have a test ordered for them...should they decide later to pay their fee, there will be additional late charges. Parents, when you pay the fee using a tax credit, that money comes back to you! Questions? Talk to Mrs. McDowell or Mrs. Petersen in the counseling office.
Did you know??? Students have several options open to them as they continue to make post-secondary plans. Major Clarity is a great tool for ideas on areas that interest students, the ASVAB will be utilized when the seniors take it November 4 and 5, and the College and Career Center is always a place where students can get information on colleges, jobs, the military, etc. Be sure to encourage your student to take advantage of these options!
