Trojan Families,

zoom_out_map

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! We are extremely excited about the start of a new school year and the endless opportunities that await. John Mills Elementary School is fortunate to have dedicated, knowledgeable, and nurturing staff who are ready to educate students and serve families. We look forward to a productive and purposeful year of academic and social/emotional growth for all of our students.

Collectively, we understand the work we do every day is rooted in the John Mills School mission statement which encourages a partnership between home and school, promoting self esteem, academic success, social responsibility, and providing a learning environment that is caring, engaging, and challenging. We know now more than ever that our students need a learning space where they feel safe and supported. Together, we are building a brighter future to ensure we achieve our mission and meet all of our students' needs.

In preparation for the new school year, we have provided some important “need to know” information. Our Mills Moments is shared with our families via email every two weeks. If your email address or phone number ever change, please notify the main office.

Free and Reduced Lunch Application

For the past two years all schools had federal flexibilities during COVID so they could serve meals for free. The federal funding has expired so we will no longer serve all meals for free. This coming school year we will transition back to pre-pandemic meal programs with paid, free and reduced-prices options for students. Families can complete an application to determine if they qualify for free and reduced pricing options for meals.

Spirit Store

School pride is the heart of our school. We are proud to know our school song and wear maroon and gold on Fridays to highlight our #Trojan Pride. School spirit is celebrted as a way to bring the John Mills School community together, emphasizing the importance of belonging to something bigger than ourselves. We encourage everyone, parents and students alike, to participate in School Spirit Fridays by wearing maroon and gold. Be proud of the school you represent. If you are in need of spirit wear, click here for official school merchandise.
