IMPORTANT INFORMATION & UPDATES
September is Attendance Awareness Month
September is Attendance Awareness Month, a time for individuals and organizations to learn about attendance issues, absenteeism, and the effects attendance can have on academic performance and success.
School attendance is essential to academic success, but too often students, parents, and schools don’t realize how quickly absences, excused or unexcused, can add up to academic trouble. Chronic absence— missing just 18 days per school year— can lead to third graders being unable to master reading, sixth graders failing courses, and ninth-graders dropping out of high school.

Thank you for making sure your child is at school on time every day!
We will have a weekly drawing for prizes for scholars with perfect attendance!

ARSA Parents on Patrol Needed
Thank you to our parents who attended our in-person and virtual meeting last week! One of the requests was to try to get some parent volunteers to help monitor our morning arrival. If you are able to volunteer in the morning from 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m., please email Principal Shaw at Nashaw@dallasisd.org and our community liaison, Elsa Cardenas at ElCardenas@dallasisd.org. We need your help and appreciate your support of the ARSA Community!
Additionally, we need volunteers in other areas of the campus, including:
- Dismissal Duty
- Lunch Duty
- Library Support
- Hallway Decorations
All volunteers must have a clear background and register through VOLY. Click here to get started:

Cowboys Mondays & College Day Thursdays
We are very excited to bring high spirit to the ARSA community by allowing staff and students to wear their Dallas Cowboys shirts if the Cowboys win on Sunday nights! Now, we know there are plenty of great football teams out there; however, we are rooting for them 'Boys! Students MUST wear khakis with their Cowboys shirts and tops!
As an AVID campus, we ALWAYS encourage our scholars to think about college! Every Thursday is College & Career Day in Dallas ISD and ARSA. Students are allowed to wear a college shirt in place of their polos. They MUST still wear their khaki pants! We are college-bound at Ann Richards STEAM Academy!
