Gr 2 ELA and MATH news
Here's our weekly update from Pilgrim School
This week in Gr 2 ELA (reading with Mr. Yearick)
This week we did another round of small group read-alouds. Some students finished their chapter books about Pancho the dog, while others read non-fiction books about flowers, games, or origami. On Friday we brought in an artifact that was related in some way to these stories. We described the flowers with some great adjectives like "realistic", "fresh" and "fragrant", as well as "creative" to describe Elias's homemade flower. We learned about Chinese checkers, and Ben even invented his own game! We saw some interesting folded objects, like an airplane and a crane, and heard some fun poems about dogs. As a class, we read Henry and Mudge and made some inferences about some of the things not said explicitly in the text.
