Science
5.P.2.3 Summarize properties of original materials, and the new material(s) formed, to demonstrate that a change has occurred.
5.P.1.1Explain how factors such as gravity, friction, and change in mass affect the motion of objects.
This week we are finishing learning about chemical and physical changes. We are also beginning learning about Forces and Motion. Students will learn about friction and gravity as well as speed and velocity.

ELA
- RL 5.1: Quote accurately from a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text.
- RL 5.2: Determine a theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text, including how characters in a story or drama respond to challenges or how the speaker in a poem reflects upon a topic; summarize the text.
This quarter we will be starting a new book called Wonderstruck! We will be using this book to complete activities to help us review standards that we have learned throughout the year.
This week we will be focusing on summarizing, inferencing, and theme.

Math
This week we are focusing on geometry. We will learn how to classify quadrilaterals by their properties. We will also learn to classify triangles by their angles and sides.
