News and updates for families of Inspire students
September 25, 2020
Dear Inspire Families:
As I drop into classes each week, the same thoughts wash over me:
"I want more! I wish I could take this class. Why didn't I get to have this same experience in high school? How would my life have been different if I could have gone to Inspire?"
In each observation, I am struck by the ways that Inspire teachers ground their subject matter solidly in meaningful work.
While Mrs. Reynolds' Math 2 students had clear learning targets connected to graphing equations today, they also learned that there are lots of ways to see a problem, that feeling challenged means you are learning, and that the process of arriving at a solution might be more important than the solution itself.
Each opportunity to see the teaching and learning that goes on at Inspire hourly, daily, gives me hope for our students. Especially now, the opportunity to find meaning in what they learn will help our students build resilience for the challenges ahead. This truly is learning, inspired.
With gratitude and hope,
Becky Brown
