Mr. Farris, GHS- Final Review
Before we take our finals at the end of semester 1 and 2, I have every class participate in a scavenger hunt. They start with ten clues on the board in class that leads them to various places around campus, and at each location, there's a question that is taken from their final. You might have seem some random questions taped around campus yesterday. Sometimes they're easy to find (yum = cafeteria), but other times it's a little more tricky (pretty picture means the senior mural).
The first team back with all ten questions correct gets extra credit towards their final, but even if the students don't win they get a good sense of what the questions on the final will be like. It's especially helpful since the final is open binder and they can write notes to themselves (hopefully).
It's been a tradition for all my classes to do this since I started teaching in 2014, and I think the students find it useful and enjoy it!

State Accountability
1:1 Computing
We are continuing to make progress towards our 1:1 implementation. Greenville Jr./Sr. High School is our first pilot school to go complete 1:1. On Wednesday, 1/24/18, GJSHS held a laptop check out night. We will be reviewing how this process went to be better prepared for laptop checkout next August to all of our 7th-12th students.
A huge thank you to GHS and our tech team for making this happen!
Our next 1:1 training day is February 12th.
