__________

Crosswalk at Parking Lot Entrance

We are needing to make changes at our Crosswalk. We are asking all families who walk down the west side of 174th, to follow the map below. It will take you down a few blocks on Ashland Drive, where there is a pathway onto the school grounds. In looking at the second map, there may also be another way that leads you to the cul-de-sac, depending on where you live.

There are three main reasons that we are asking you to not cross the drive way.
  1. Safety - It is very dangerous with two lanes of cars leaving the parking lot and one lane coming in.
  2. Staffing - We do not have the staffing to cover both crossings.
  3. Traffic Flow - It impedes traffic flow in and out of the parking lot when we need to stop cars.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility with this situation.

OHSU Covid Testing - New Information

We will send home the test kids tomorrow, please return them on Wednesday. We do not have school on Monday and Tuesday, so OHSU will come by on Wednesday and pick them up.

Friendly reminder: If you want your child to stop or resume taking the OHSU weekly test, we need your request in writing. Please feel free to email AnnMarie at annmarie_mcleod@beaverton.k12.or.us.

__________

OBOB Competition

Last call for students wanting to participate in OBOB - please send your student's name, their team members, their team name, the parent in charge of the team, and parent's willingness to help run battles to me by the end of the day on Tuesday, February 22nd.

Battles are for 3rd-5th graders only and students should have read the majority of the books by now - they have been on display in the library and OBOB has been discussed since the end of last school year.

This is probably the most helpful link to help you with your decision.

https://www.wccls.org/obob

Please note, we can not do this if we do not get some parent volunteers and many students have put countless hours into reading these books. Thank you. You can email me at: amy_frewing@beaverton.k12.or.us

Children's books in a foreign language

Reminder and thank you!

We have already received a beautiful collection of books written in Japanese. We are hoping to have relevant books for ALL of our students, so any books that you may have in your native language that are in good shape, and you are no longer using, would be a welcome addition to our World Language section of the library. Thank you in advance.

Just a quick reminder of the library website! You can pre-shop library books, place books on hold that are already checked out, and view your child's current checkouts.

Please return books to the teacher's classroom bins as soon as you are done - no need to wait for library day!
