New Appointments.

We are excited to tell you about some new appointments to our staff team from January. Mrs Shelagh Finn will be joining our schools as a Family Support Worker, working across both schools. Mrs Thwaite will be teaching Year 2 every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and Mrs Potter will be teaching Year 5. Mrs Stevens is going to continue to work in school for one day each week, teaching the arts to different classes.

Christmas Fayre.

Thank you to everyone who attended the Christmas Fayre last Saturday, and to the volunteers from the PTA who organised the event. It was lovely to have so many activities in school again.

PTA Movie Night 14.12.22

PTA have arranged a movie night for 14th December. Adult tickets £2, children's tickets £4, (child ticket includes pizza and a drink)

Tickets are available on ParentPay. Please enter any dietary needs into the notes section when purchasing the tickets.

PTA 100 Club

The PTA are hoping to start a ‘100 Club’ in January. This can be purchased through ParentPay and further details will be available soon.

Pantomime Visit Wednesday 7th December.

As the children leave early to get to the pantomime our cook will be making a picnic style lunch for all children on school dinners. Reception children will still get the hot lunch choices are they aren't going on the trip.

Don't forget that its a later return, around 4.30/5pm. We will text to advise expected time as we leave the theatre.

Christmas Concert - 8th December.

Our Christmas Concert is taking place in our School Hall on Thursday the 8th of December at 5 pm for approximately an hour.

Tickets are £3 for adults and free for children. Refreshments will be available. Please join us to celebrate the joy of the Festive Season!

Please note that tickets will not be available on the door-they must be purchased in advance on ParentPay.

Christingle Monday 12th December.

The Christingle service will take place in church on Monday 12th December, but the start time has had to be put back to 10.30am

Selby Send Hub - Fun Session 19th December.


Admission is completely free. 1 hour slots per family (10am-3pm)

Free Singing Sessions

Calling all singers!

Selby Music Centre is delighted to have appointed Rachel MacKenzie as our

new choir leader. Rachel has experience of leading children’s choirs in a couple

of York primary schools, in addition to directing adult choirs, including at Aviva

in York! We would like to invite your child to take part in some free singing sessions on

Saturdays from November 19th until 10 th December. There will be a short

informal performance on the morning of December 10th at 11am, along with

our music centre folk, strings and guitar ensembles.

Sessions take place at Selby High School from 11.05 – 12.15. Please come a few minutes earlier to buy a treat from our tuck shop (choose a free treat on your first visit!), if you would like to. The choir will continue in the spring term starting on January 7 th . We will also be offering free taster sessions for newcomers to all ensembles from January 7th .
