Malnutrition in Haiti
By Tristan Jones
The Problem?
The percentage of kids in Haiti under five who are malnutrition is a whopping 18.90%. In most of Central America, malnutrition is a very common issue and the government can not stop it due to the GDP(gross domestic product).
The Three Effects in Central America from Malnutrition
The first effect is the government. In most countries, if an unstable government is corrupt most likely the country or city will run out of food for the people. The second effect has to do with education. If the kids knew how to farm correctly they might build up a better GDP. The last effect is the pregnant women. Pregnant women need proper care and nutrients, but in Haiti, women do not receive proper care. Women are exposed to lots of pain and possibly death.
Three Pictures Of Haiti's Malnutrition
The Land Use
As you can see the land is not used very well so therefore this leads to malnutrition.
The Earthquake
With this in the way, it stops trade and makes people have to live on the streets.
The Lines for Food
In this picture, kids wait in line for just a little bit of food.
The Soultion
Possible solutions for the malnutrition in Haiti is first to find a new stable government. Another solution is teaching the younger citizens how to farm correctly. Lastly, Haiti needs to get a higher GDP.
Three Effects to Help with Malnutrition
First effect is to put leaders in government who want to work on finding a solution for the high malnutrition rate. The second effect is to have the experience farmers educate the younger citizens in farming. Lastly, by educating more people in farming then more food would be produce and the GDP rating will go up.
