Important Updates for District 181
March 5th has been rescheduled to an Asynchronous Learning Day.
Travel Guidance:
The District is following the CDC and IDPH's most recent guidance on international travel.
International Travel: Per the CDC and IDPH, anyone returning from international travel is required to:
- Quarantine for 7 days and get a PCR test on days 5-7 with a return on Day 8 OR
- Quarantine for 10 days if not getting tested with a return on Day 11
Note: The day you travel to return home is considered Day 0.
If you are traveling internationally, please connect with Mrs. Richardson, school nurse, to determine your child's return date to school and discuss the required documents needed.
Domestic Travel: There is currently no restriction when returning from domestic travel.
Please note that travel increases your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19 and staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others. Please continue to wear your mask, watch your distance, and wash your hands when around those outside your household.
IAAT Test for Fifth Grade Students
On Tuesday, March 2nd, fifth grade students will be taking the Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test (IAAT) at 9:00 and 1:00. The IAAT is group-administered and will take approximately 50 minutes to complete.
The Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test is a criterion-referenced assessment that evaluates a student's ability and readiness for success in algebraic concepts. IAAT is one data point that is used when determining math placement decisions for students entering 6th grade.
The IAAT is scored externally and your child's score will be shared with you in the spring once the results are received.
If you have any questions regarding the Iowa Algebra Aptitude Test, please contact your building principal or child’s classroom teacher. Thank you for your partnership in education.
Candor Health Presentation for Fifth Grade Students- March 5th
Since Friday, March 5th, has been moved to an asynchronous learning day, I have reached out to Candor to reschedule or discuss our options, but was not able to connect with them on Friday. I will keep you posted once I hear back from Candor.
