A Peek at Last Week
In Science:
This week the Scholars continue to work on their shoebox science fair project. We look forward to their presentations on Wednesday!
In Humanities:
This week the Scholars continued our study of the Bill of Rights as part of our Celebrate Freedom Week. As a final activity in our character study this week the Scholars designed an iPhone for their character. They chose background pictures for the home screen and the lock screen. They decided on "must have apps" that their character would need as well as text messages from other characters and songs in a playlist. Each choice was justified by character traits and choices.
Red Nose Day
The scholars spent time traveling through rotations that included team building, more information about how poverty impacts us at home as well as globally and earning grains of rice at Freerice.com.

Speaking of Swimming...
The daughter of Jayne Wiliky, a kindergarten teacher here, will be working at a camp for homeless children this summer. They are in need of bathing suits for the campers, ages 6-14. The bathing suits do not have to be new, so if you have any at your home that your children have outgrown, please consider donating them. They need all different sizes, even adult sizes would work. You can send them into school any time before the last day. I know they would appreciate your help if you are able.
