Sports Medicine Clinic Receives Upgrade!
This past summer, we renovated our athletic training clinic to better serve our students and transform our sports medicine program into a collegiate/professional program.

Branding Iron Game Tonight | 7:00 pm | at DBHS
You can get into the Branding Iron game for free by showing your ASB card at the gate. All other guests must pre-purchase tickets online through https://gofan.co/app/school/CA18798 before entering the stadium.
$8 General Admission & $2 for ages 5-11. There will be no tickets sold at the gate.
The game starts at 7:00 pm.

Live Theatre is back at Walnut High School
We are so excited to announce that our Drama Productions is back! Well done to WHS Drama department for putting on a fantastic live performance of Twelve Angry Jurors last weekend. This thought-provoking production was filled with lots of emotion and edge-of-your-seat moments by our WHS actors. Congratulations on a performance well done!
Cool Vibes at WHS Jazz BBQ
Last Friday felt like the Hollywood Bowl at our Annual Jazz BBQ. Our jazz students played in front of over 300 people with special guest staff member performers:

SPRING MUSICAL - DISNEY'S "THE LITTLE MERMAID" AUDITION WORKSHOP
If you want to learn the audition music and dance early, audition workshops will be held on Wednesday, October 27, and Thursday, October 28 at 3 PM in T1. You will be able to pick up the audition packet, hear about how auditions will be run, learn the audition songs, and learn the choreography for the dance portion of the auditions. This workshop is entirely optional. You do not have to attend one to audition. It is simply an opportunity to learn the material ahead of time. The workshop will be the same on both days.

WHS SOCCER SPIRIT GEAR
This year boys soccer is selling Walnut Mustangs spirit gear through the Fan Cloth online shop.
All items ship directly to you or loved ones. Due to supply chain and shipping delays, items are expected to be received in mid-December.
Student-athletes also have a catalog that they will carry with them on campus. Thank you for your support!

2021-22 IMPORTANT AP Exam Dates
From the CollegeBoard: 2022 AP Exams
- The 2022 AP Exams will be administered in schools as paper-and-pencil* exams over two weeks in May: May 2–6 and May 9–13.
- As usual, AP Chinese and AP Japanese Exams are administered in schools on computers.
- Review the entire 2022 exam schedule.

- AP EXAM PAYMENT DEADLINE WITH NO PENALTY FEE IS 11/12/2021
- Any exam ordered after will accrue a $40 late fee + exam price

CAL POLY PARENT BILINGUAL CONFERENCE
Cal Poly is hosting an online conference Saturday, November 6th, which will include information for prospective college students. They’ll be having workshops on admissions, financial aid, E.O.P., and A.B. 540 for Dreamers. Our Parent Bilingual Conference will be offered in English and Spanish and will include a bilingual student panel. Cal Poly is hosting this event to show parents and students that college is a possibility, not just a dream and that knowledge is the road to success.

SCHOOL LUNCH POLICY
Due to safety concerns, we DO NOT accept student lunches in the office. We understand the importance of student nutrition, but we encourage students to either purchase lunch at school or bring their lunch from home. Food, drinks, or other items are NOT to be passed to students through the fence. This is STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
Please Note: Parents can now access the Food Services Department from our website under the Parents tab. On that page, parents can set up and deposit funds into their student's lunch account for purchasing lunch on campus.

This short video provides a variety of College and Career Readiness Resources for this years Seniors.
STUDENT CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
Students must attend every class, every day, and be on time. In order to receive daily credit, students are to bring all necessary materials to class. Students will not be excused from class to get materials. Homework and class assignments are to be completed on time and to the best of the student’s ability. Only behaviors befitting the learning environment are acceptable. Students are to comply with all reasonable requests of any staff member. Dress code will be enforced.

ATTENDANCE COUNTS!
Please remember that attendance counts, every period, every day. Students will be marked absent if they are not at the beginning of each period to verify their attendance.
All single-period absences will need to be reconciled through the attendance office by the student. If marked absent, students will receive an email from the attendance office notifying them that they have been marked absent. The notification will include the date and period of the absence. The student will need to contact the Attendance Department to make any necessary corrections to their individual period attendance. For full-day absences, a parent/guardian must contact the attendance office by the end of the day.
