Copy Room Volunteers Needed
Are you looking for a way to get involved at CCMS? Do you like helping out your kids’ teachers? If so the PTSA is looking for volunteers to work in the copy room this year. This is a great way to get to know the campus and the staff. You must be a cleared volunteer and be willing to commit to a hour or two once a week or every other week.
Please contact Allison Herbst (asherbst@me.com) if you are interested.
Help CCMS by volunteering in the CCMS Student Store!
The CCMS Student Store is an extremely important source of revenue for the PTSA - and a great way to get a peek into what's happening with CCMS students during their lunch hour and right after school! So why not volunteer to work the CCMS Student Store?! It's open daily for students to buy snacks at lunch and after school, PE clothes, and Spirit Wear and we need lots of parents to staff it. Please take advantage of this chance to be on campus and volunteer today! Sign up here! Please make sure to check your Volunteer Clearance with the office prior to signing up to help.

Construction Work Upcoming
Please be advised of the following upcoming dates of work happening outside of CCMS in the parking lot, and on Elenda and Farragut Avenues. Thank you in advance for planning accordingly for drop off and pick up at school, as well as for crossing only at pedestrian crossings safely with the help of crossing guards.
Golden State Water Co. will be sending out notices to the community in advance of a water shut down (distribution is planned for Tuesday, November 12th in the evening). There will be trenches dug and then re-filled in the days before and after the water shutoff.
We plan to block of parking spots #4-9 on the evening of Thursday, November 7th.
Work will take place from 9 - 2 on Tuesday 11/12 and from 9 -1 on Wednesday 11/13.
On Thursday, November 14th, work will again be from 9-2; and then again in the evening. Since this project will require a water shut off, everything to the North of the valve all the way to Overland will be without water. In order to minimize the impact to the neighborhood this shut down/tie in will be done from 10 PM to 5 AM starting on Thursday, November 14th and completing on Friday, November 15th.
Work will continue on Friday, November 15th and into the following week (11/18-22) during the daytime hours.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED ANNOUNCEMENTS
Backpacks for Kids Food Drive
It started at one elementary where teachers noticed kids being hungry on Mondays. Parent and school volunteers put together simple backpacks to provide food for the weekends. During the week the kids were eligible for free or reduced lunches and breakfasts, but something had to be done about weekend food uncertainty. Supported by the Culver City Council PTA, the Backpacks for Kids Program is run entirely by volunteers and receives no funding from School District, state or federal sources.
Beginning now through the first week of December, each school site will be collecting a specific item to be added to these backpacks; see our flyer for more information.
Here at Culver City Middle School, we are collecting Top Ramen.
Please bring your donation to the front office. Thanks for your support!
