Grade 4 Ability Awareness Days
MCAS Results Sent Home
If a student is performing below a standard, our teaching teams work collaboratively to provide those students with daily, small group, interventions to close that gap. We use research-based, high quality resources to provide those interventions and we monitor the progress of our students frequently. If a student is exceeding a standard, we work to provide instruction that meets those students where they are at and challenge them appropriately.
We also believe in teaching to the whole child. We believe that the social curriculum is as important as the academic curriculum and we work to balance the two in our classrooms everyday. We seek to get to know our students' interests and passions and we use that knowledge to make learning meaningful and motivating for our students. Providing this level of differentiated instruction to a classroom of 22 - 25 different individuals, meeting the individual needs and interests of all of our students, is highly complex and requires tremendous compassion, patience, skill and commitment. All the credit to our teachers in these classrooms everyday, doing this work, and to all the parents that support both their child and their teacher.
RO students take advantage of the conservation land behind our school.
The outdoors provides such a rich environment for hands-on learning!
