Leonardo DiCaprio was born November 11, 1974 in Hollywood, California. He is the only child of Irmelin, a legal secretary born in Germany, and George DiCaprio, a comic book artist and distributor, they divorced when Leo was still a toddler. Leo was raised by his mother, but still had a close relationship with his father. Both his parents still wanted Leo to pursue his likeness in acting. By the age 14 he started acting. His first major role in acting was when he was 19 where he starred in the movie This Boy's Life (1993). This role was a breakthrough in his career. In 1997, he starred in the Academy Award winning movie Titanic, which made him a huge star. Later on in 2004, DiCaprio founded his own production company "Appian Way" where he produced movies, such as Runner, Runner and Shutter Island. Today he continues his career in acting with his newest movie Revenant coming to theaters this Christmas (2015).
