Return to School Plans
Good afternoon, Otsego families
On Tuesday, Governor Whitmer held a press conference to discuss “Michigan’s Return to School Roadmap.” This plan lays out specific requirements and guidelines for school districts to use as we reopen in the fall. Michigan’s Return to School Roadmap is broken into Phases 1-6, which aligns to Michigan’s Safe Start Plan. Currently, our region is in Phase 4 but please understand we can move in either direction based on the numbers. It is my hope that we continue to do our part based on the CDC guidelines and move into Phase 5 before school starts.
We are in the process of reviewing this roadmap to see how it aligns to work that has already been created by our district stakeholder group and what adjustments or modifications need to be made to ensure all safety measures are in place. The district stakeholder group will reconvene next week to discuss and modify our plan for reopening. It will be my intent to share our reopening plan with our students, staff, parents and community by Tuesday, July 14th.
As we approach the Fourth of July, I hope all of you have a wonderful and safe holiday. I look forward to sharing with you our reopening plan in the next couple of weeks as I’m excited to have our students back in August.
