Flower Power Fundraiser for the Class of 2023
Please help support the class of 2023 with purchasing some exquisite flower bulbs. Students earn 50% profit on this fundraiser and it will hopefully fund our deposits for both junior and senior prom. In the current situation, many families are struggling with basic needs let alone extras such as prom or class outing. These funds will help bring down the costs to everyone in the class of 2023, and make those memories a little more affordable for our entire population.

RHS HELPS REBUILD HOLE IN THE WALL GANG CAMP
The Rockville Political Alliance Club here at RHS set up a fundraiser to try to raise $1011 to help rebuild the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp that suffered a major fire on February 12. The dollar amount is one dollar per student and staff member at RHS!
We quickly reached our goal of raising $1011 for the Hole in the Wall Gang camp rebuild. It also looks like through various donors, including a million dollars from Travelers, the camp now has enough money to rebuild, hopefully in time for this summer.
RHS is such a generous and caring group of people and this was just one more example. You all ROCK!!
RHS Writers Attend Second Annual High School Journalism Day hosted by the CCSU Journalism Department.
Speakers included Matthew Kauffman, a former investigative reporter at the Hartford Courant, who lead a discussion with Emilie Munson, Hearst CT Media's Washington, D.C.-based political reporter, who has covered the Trump administration and impeachment, and Courant sportswriter Shawn McFarland, who described the difficulties he encountered when covering the COVID-19 regulation of high school sports. Satchel Walton, a high school student journalist from Louisville who broke a national story about the Kentucky State Police using Nazi materials to train state troopers, rounded out the panel. In addition, Kauffman held a conversation with Brian Didlake II, a Fox61 reporter in Hartford, about covering the Black Lives Matter protests in Connecticut as an African American man.
PowderPuff Football Food Drive
We would like to extend a hearty congratulations to the senior class on their Powderpuff Food Drive victory. The final score was 3,348-2,175. The junior class gave a valiant effort with several sizable paper product donations. Through your generosity, RHS will bring a donation of 1,098 items to the Hockanum Valley Community Council food pantry.
This includes 31 packs of paper towels equaling 77 rolls, and 89 packs of toilet paper equaling an astounding 558 rolls of toilet paper!!!
A cash donation will be added from staff dress down to enable HVCC to purchase milk, eggs, and fresh fruits and vegetables for their clients.
In a time of great need, RHS gave a great team effort to help feed members of our community.
Congrats to Mrs. Rizzo!
