In high school there are some class you should take, such as automotive repair, automotive technology, and mathematics. Once you're out of high school you should will have to go to a trade school for 2-8 years based off how skilled of a mechanic you wish to be.
About the Job
Being a mechanic there are a few Duties you will have to carry out, such as replacing things like, the oil, brake pads, and in rare cases the whole engine block. for all that you would make roughly $36,600 a year.
Extra infomation
Being an auto mechanic is a tough job, most people retire before the age of 65. To keep earning money they usually go into a different career choice or they can either become a teacher, buy and repair cars then sale them at a profit. So even after you retire you still have plenty of career options.
About me
As long as I can remember I have wanted to be a mechanic. What really sparked the interest was when I was in first grade and the VRC broke. My dad and I dismantled it, figured out what was wrong, fix it, then reassemble it; I loved doing that. It was what I wanted to do for a living ever since.
