The Absolute Function - Absolute equations equate absolutely
Elevator Music (Theme from "Psychopomp") by James M. Carroll
The Absolute Value!
With a domain of any real number, and a range of any number greater than or equal to zero, what's not to love?
The quadratic function's sleeker, more angular cousin.
An Intercept of (0,0)
Unaltered, the absolute function will not go pass the x-axis, and decreases from negative infinity to zero, then increases from zero to infinity.
An Even Function
Symmetrical along the y-axis, and never crossing over itself, the absolute value is an even function, never repeating an x-value, and never deviating from a straight line.
No upper limit
An absolute value can only decrease to a certain point. But it can never stop increasing. With an absolute value function, you can reach beyond the stars!
