Before and After School........Traffic

Wow, this year has ran so smoothly even with a 15 minute exit delay leaving the school. You have all made this possible with drop off and pick up. We are grateful for your patience and courtesy. Thank you for remaining at a slow speed when driving in the school area and the parking lot even when no one is visibly present.

Students can be dropped off at 8:30 to eat breakfast or play on the playground.

After school 15 to get from school to the light.......

We have contacted the city about adjusting the light to move more traffic after school. Currently, the buses are having trouble getting out of the area and keeping their bus times with all the traffic. (Thank you parents for your patience in waiting longer to get your children at the bus stops until this is resolved.) If you would let the buses go before you that would be great even when the light timings are extended. Hang out in the parking lots or leave when you see no back up will ease the traffic for the buses. The first buses are set to leave our school at 3:59. Allow all the buses to exit so we can get them to the light first. Brown Bus and the school talk weekly to come up with solutions. Also, construction to extend the Broadmore Way Road to 4th Street is set to break ground this month. It should be done by November according to the city. This might help with traffic as well having another exit but until them yield to the 7 buses please.

Message from Counselor about Assemblies

Assemblies this year will be a little different than last year; we will have 2 different types of assemblies, an awards assembly and a student showcase assembly. Assemblies will still be held on the first Friday of each month. The awards assembly will be held on a quarterly basis; this assembly will include the Arts awards and the Principal awards. The Student Showcase will be all the other first Fridays and will be exclusively for student performances. The award assembly dates are 11/2/18, 2/1/19, and 4/5/19. The student showcase assembly dates are 10/5/18, 12/7/18, 1/11/19, 3/1/19, and 5/3/19. The assembly schedule will be:

9:45 am - 10:15 am - first grade, second grade, and AM kindergarten

2:00pm - 2:30pm - third grade and PM kindergarten

2:45pm - 3:15pm - fourth grade and all day kindergarten

Parents will be notified by their student's teacher or the school counselor if your child is receiving an award or performing at an assembly. Please feel free to contact our school counselor Rikki Jensen at 208-463-4324 ext. 304 with any questions.

Label Items

We have about 30 jackets and lunchbox items in the lost and found. Please label your items.

Starting items to label

  • backpack
  • lunchbox
  • jackets
  • gloves
  • scarves
  • hats/knitted hats
  • water bottles
  • containers inside the lunchboxes
  • glasses/case

Knowing what items your child is bringing to school also helps in returning items. We clear out the lost and found each year and donate items before major breaks, such as Thanksgiving, winter, spring break, and end of the year.

Trunk or Treat

We would like to continue our annual Trunk or Treat at the school but need a few parent volunteers to take it to the next level and keep it going. Contact Kendal Fleshman at 208-463-4324 ext 305 or email her at if you are interested in organizing/helping this event for our students this year.
