Parents of current 6th graders, please continue to turn in the two shots required for 7th grade. Turning in early is always appreciated and helps prevent a hold on your child’s schedule
What shots are needed for 7th Grade? TDAP (adacel) and MCV4 (menactra or meningococcal)
Where can parents see the immunizations once turned in? These shots are entered electronically after a record is provided and can be found in your child’s parent portal

Student Climate Survey - Week of April 10
The Aledo ISD Student Climate Survey conducted by Panorama will be given to all Aledo ISD 5th-12th graders the week of April 10. The Student Climate Survey covers how students think about their school and their experience in school.
Surveys will be emailed to student email addresses and completed at school during designated dates/times on each campus the week of April 10. To review the survey questions, please visit this webpage.
Parents/guardians may notify the district by Friday, March 24, 2023, if you would like to opt your child out of taking the survey by emailing communications@aledoisd.org with the following information (remember this is for students in grades 5-12 only):
· Student's first and last name
· Student's grade and campus
· Student's ID number (lunch number)
Positivity Project
Dear Families,
This week our school community will be focusing on the Other People Mindset of Identifying and Appreciating the Good in Others. It’s important to deliberately work to identify and appreciate others’ character strengths.
Identifying and appreciating the good in others is a core tenet of the Other People Mindset. This isn’t always what comes naturally. Often, it’s easier to blame others for our problems or find flaws in others to use as excuses for our own jealousy, bitterness, or resentment. The problem is that this negativity usually leads to problems -- for ourselves, for the other person, and for our relationships.
Identifying and appreciating the good in other people helps you see the world through a more positive -- and less threatening -- lens. If you’re constantly seeing the negative traits of people, you’re going to think the world is comprised of bad people -- and you’re going to operate from a defensive posture. This isn’t to say that we should be naive or see the world, and its people, through “rose-colored glasses.” It’s just that we should strive to understand people’s intent. If you see the good in another, they are likely to see the good in you.
To practice and encourage the character strength of perspective with your child, please visit the Positivity Project’s P2 for Families (password: P2), where together you will watch a video, read a quote, and talk about the answers to three questions.
Have a wonderful week!
School Zone Reminder
Please remember that our traffic circle is a cell phone free zone! We have had a lot of distracted cell phone users - please help us keep our students and staff safe!
Bearcat of Character - Mark Ogden
Mark Ogden is always positive and optimistic in class. He displays this character daily! I don't think I have ever heard him complain and he regularly lifts up others around him with his words of encouragement! Mark deserves the honor of being nominated as AMS Bearcat Most Optimistic Student.

Late Arrivals
Lunch Deliveries
In the event that you need to deliver lunch to your student, please follow the steps below:
- Please be sure that the lunch is clearly labeled with your student's first and last name.
- Upon entering AMS, please place your student's lunch in the bin assigned to your student's grade level lunch.
- The bins will be delivered at the start of each lunch period. Students will be responsible for getting their lunches from the bin.
Again, we request that you limit lunch deliveries when possible. Also, in order to limit distractions, we will not call students out of class to receive lunches.
Thank you for your help with this!
