Principal Notes:

We have had a unique start to the year with the weather and schedules. It will be nice to resume regular routines with a few full weeks of school coming soon, but we do have a great break for families next weekend. Prior to break, we will hold Parent-Teacher Conferences. Conferences are such an important time for us to connect with parents. Thank you for making the effort to be here and engage in your student(s) learning. If you have questions about conference scheduling, please contact the office. Below are a couple announcements for you prior to break:

  • We have a group holding a fundraiser to raise money to support St. Jude’s research hospital. St. Jude’s children hospital specializes in helping children with cancer. Next Wednesday, February 13th, students will be selling hot chocolate afterschool for 50 cents a cup. Please help us raise money by bringing 50 cents and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate. Do a good deed help kids in need!
  • Valentine’s Day parties will be held in classrooms and coordinated by classroom teachers. Please check your classroom newsletter for information from teachers.
  • Registration is open for 2019-2020 qualified preschool students. If your child will be 4 by July 31, 2019 but not yet 5, you are eligible to apply. You increase their chances of being considered for placement at Bryan Elementary if you complete paperwork by February 15th. Please follow this the link to preschool information and registration paperwork:

Save Me a Seat - One School One Book

We hope you have enjoyed the first chapters of Save Me a Seat! We had a great interaction this week taking opportunity from our book during lunch time. Students sat intermixed with different grade levels with speaking topics to prompt different interaction compared to an ordinary day. It was quite a success! We encourage you to tackle chapters 15-27 this week. That sounds like a lot of reading, but the chapters are pretty small. Attached are pictures of our Save Me a Seat lunchtime and a guide to this week's reading material. The most important part of this activity is to have fun!! :)

Week of February 25 (Due by March 1)
