Kindergarten Newsletter
Week Of May 14th
Highlights from last week....
We are just a bunch of worker bees in kindergarten!
We began to familiarize ourselves with our new reading program. This week our focus was on how animals are alike and different. We read an informational text called "Zooborns" and answered questions about the text. We learned some new vocabulary words: appearance, behavior, wander, plenty and exercise. We reviewed the letter U and the sight words for and have. Our focus in writing was how to respond to text using a prompt. This was a tricky concept for us, but we continued to practice and were able to grasp it by the end of the week.
In Math, we finished worked on counting to 100 by tens and ones and practiced correct number formation.
In Science, we worked our Taking Card of the Earth unit. The kids love learning about ways to help the Earth; reduce, reuse and recycle.
A peek at our learning this week....
Our focus this week will be how to take care of a pet. We will read stories relating to this topic and answer questions relating to the text.
In Math, we will finish our unit on teen numbers.
In Science, we will continue our unit on taking care of the Earth.
THANK YOU
