The Pony Express
Fun in First Grade
Learning with Mrs. Ackenbom's Littles
At Camp Friendship, we finalized our year-long equine studies unit by saying goodbye to our pony Mokie. Each class rotated through three different activities one at a time. The activities were a horsey parts and grooming theory where children learned horse parts and reviewed how to groom a pony, a horse riding theory where children learned about horse gaits and jumping, and a hayride to observe horses in a spring setting similar to that of horses in the wild. We spent about 40 minutes at each rotation and then ate our lunches before heading back to school. The Equestrian Director, barn manager, and Camp staff from around the world lead us on our fun-filled day. Check out our fun pictures!
Looking at our Portfolios - way to grow!
This week, we had a growth mindset celebration to share what we were excited about learning this school year. A big thanks goes to Finna's dad for providing refreshments for our little learning party!
