Message From Central Road School
Mrs. Joanna Shostachuk, School Principal
A Note from Mrs. Shostachuk 10/03/2021
Dear Central Road Families:
Happy Fall! The students are so excited for the changes the fall season brings. Some have loved wearing more clothing layers, others enjoy seeing the trees change colors, and many are excited about our upcoming Fall Spirit Week and Halloween! We spent some time refreshing expectations this week. We met with classrooms outside to review recess and playground rules. Nurse Patel also visited classrooms to review healthy habits and effective hygiene as we begin heading into cold/flu season in the coming weeks/month. We will practice both a lockdown drill on October 6th and bus evacuation on October 7th while the weather remains favorable. Thank you for taking a moment to read our weekly parent communication as we continue to honor a strong home-school connection. Please enjoy the weekend with family and friends while remaining healthy too. As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
Kindest Regards,
Joanna Shostachuk

October Message from Mrs. Kathy Nordin
Also, I am noticing is when cars are exiting the parking lot, be it morning or afternoon, most vehicles are not stopping and not looking to see if there is oncoming traffic. Some are not even slowing down, just proceeding onto Central Road. There have been several near misses. There is a STOP sign there and it must be adhered to. Please remember the “NO LEFT TURN” times. There's a sign for that, as well. PLEASE do not cross in the middle of Central Road with your children. It is so incredibly dangerous with the way cars drive in that area. I am there for a reason, to keep your children safe and to teach them the proper way to cross a street. As always, thank you to those who take the time to read this and also abide by the advice. Also, please remember share with those who do not. Thank you for your support.
PTA Fundraiser begins October 5th!
We are excited to offer a way to give back to CENTRAL ROAD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL! On October 5th, we will be kicking off our fall fundraiser to help benefit our students and staff. Our STEAM ENGINE fundraiser, more specifically, will help with funding student activities, classroom supplies and learning tools, in addition to Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math initiatives in our school. It is going to be AWESOME, and we are excited to get started!
This fundraiser will be very easy for you. It only requires about 10 minutes of your time. •Your students can earn great prizes, just for their effort. No money required! This is an online, donation-based fundraiser, and the donation requests can go to people you know anywhere in the world. That means, no direct pressure on your shoulders.
Students will be bringing home more information next week after our Virtual Kick Off Video. Please help your student register and complete the Golden Ticket assignment THAT VERY NIGHT! All students who complete the Golden Ticket assignment will receive fun PRIZES and it does not require any money to register. We will also be doing some fun drawings for an iPad and TWO Mini Party Fridges stuffed with CASH!
Thank you in advance for your support!

THANK A CENTRAL ROAD STAFF MEMBER
Teachers in general love this time of year. Central Road teachers and staff members take the prospect of beginning a new year to a whole new level. They prepare their classrooms, plan lessons, organize schedules, review student records, and think about all of the possibilities the year ahead holds. As much as we recognize their efforts and successes here at school, nothing means more to a teacher or staff member than a kind word from a student or his/her family. As we get the year underway, I invite you to take notice of the things you see your child's teacher do, hear your child's teacher say, or the things you hear your child gush with excitement about related to their teacher. We've included this simple form for you to submit should you feel so inclined to do so. Children in full day school spend more of their waking day with their teacher than they do with their parents. We thank you for entrusting your child with us! This is going to be a great school year.
