The Board of Education provides a "Board Meeting Summary" after each Board meeting. The summary includes a brief description of the main topics and action items. These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items.   • Celebration Video

  • Forest Glen Assistant Principal Introduction
    Superintendent Kaczkowski introduced the new Assistant Principal of Forest Glen Margaret Turner. She shared that Ms. Turner brings a very well-rounded background along with significant experience in special education.
  • Recovery Plan Update
    Dr. Kaczkowski shared that work groups across DuPage are waiting anxiously for some key directives and clarifications regarding safety measures and modeling for the start of school. District 41 has already started to prepare and plan for a number of scenarios for school in the fall. The district will also initiate a facilities analysis to determine how we would best comply with the CDC guidelines for in person learning or a hybrid model of some in person and some continued remote learning.
  • Special Education Committee Update
    Board Vice President Jason Loebach welcomed SSPAC Co-chairs Kim Lechner, Amy Kalten and Lisa Brooks. Director of Student Services Laurel O’Brien shared an update on the committee and what the district will be doing next. She thanked the committee for the three year commitment working with the district to put this plan together and set direction for the future. Board members asked questions and engaged in conversation about next steps.

  • School Perceptions Survey Results
    School Perceptions President Bill Foster presented the satisfaction survey results for 2020. Surveys were administered to parents, staff and students in February and March. Board members asked questions and discussed how to use the raw data. Click here to see the executive results report.

  • Big Ideas Math Update | watch
    Assistant Superintendent for Teaching, Learning and Accountability Dr. Katie McCluskey announced that the district will continue with the Big Ideas resource for math at Hadley Junior High School.
  • First Reading of the Board Policy Revisions | watch
    Board Secretary Jess Buttimer explained the details of the policy revisions being presented to the Board for consideration.
  • Review of Proposed IASB Resolution | watch
    Board member Julie Hill summarized a proposed resolution to submit to the IASB resolution committee that helps create safer schools. This resolution advocates for safe gun storage for kids until age 18. Currently, the age is 13. The Board will vote on submitting this to IASB at the next meeting.
