Sleep Plays Important Role in Learning Process & Brain Development
Families want to know how many hours of sleep are recommended for their children. While it's true that sleep may vary from one person to another, there are science-based guidelines to determine whether your child is getting the sleep he or she needs to grow, learn, and play. Researchers have long known that sleeping plays an important role in the learning process and brain development. American Academy of Pediatrics (2016) online article: Healthy Sleep Habits: How Many Hours Does Your Child Need: www.healthychildren.org/English/healthy-living/sleep/Pages/Healthy-Sleep-Habits-How-Many-Hours-Does-Your-Child-Need.aspx
Spring Activity Guidelines
In response to the Governor’s Proclamation on March 5, 2021 and the recommendations made by the IGHSAU/IHSAA and the Iowa Department of Public Health, the Lynnville-Sully Community School District has adopted the following protocols for our Spring Activities hosted at Lynnville-Sully.
- Masks: Masks are not required unless spectators are unable to social distance from other household units. Please have a mask with you to protect others. Coaches and athletes will be expected to wear masks at team camps and/or while around others until the time of the event.
- Spectator Limits and Seating: There are no spectator limits. All spectators will be expected to follow state health guidelines regarding social distancing. According to the Governor’s proclamation, social distancing is defined as 6 feet of physical distance between each group of spectators. Spectators may bring lawn chairs to effectively social distance. *If you are sick or have been around someone who has been sick, please stay home.
- Activities Fee: The cost to enter a Lynnville-Sully high school track meet is $5 for adults and $3 for students. The cost for junior high track meets is $3 and $2 respectively. There is no entry fee for HS Golf.
- Food and Drink: The Concession Stand will be open at all Lynnville-Sully home track meets. No outside food or drink will be permitted for spectators.
- Live Streaming: Lynnville-Sully offers streaming of all home activities. To access the livestream, please visit: https://team1sports.com/lshawks/
Please support our efforts to follow the state guidelines to the best of our ability.
