Jerry Rice, one of, if not, the best receiver in NFL history. His record breaking stats have amazed people from back then to present day. He was drafted to the NFL in 1985 to the San Francisco 49ers winning 3 Super Bowls and setting 38 records. This year (2015-2016 NFL Season) he will be a team captain for one of the Pro Bowl teams. The game is being hosted in Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Jerry Rice was born on October 13, 1962 in Starkville, Mississippi. His dad was a hard-working bricklayer who made Jerry and his brothers work in the summer. He appreciated it later on when he stated, "It taught me the meaning of hard work." He once was ditching school and ran into the assistant principal and he ran as fast as he could. He was later punished but the football coach liked his speed and put him at receiver for the team. He immediately caught attention from college prospects and in 1981 was enrolled to Mississippi Valley State University. During his time in college, he broke 18 Division I-AA records.
Jerry Rice retired in 2004 with 38 NFL records under his name. He was later inducted to the Hall of Fame in 2010. He was also in the NFL's 75 years anniversary team. Jerry Rice today is still a football legend for the 49ers and will always be remembered to be the greatest receiver of all time.
