Welcome to the September newsletter! The LEE Library had a busy month as we welcomed all 9th & 10th graders for orientations. With students dispersed last year, orientations are more important than ever to ensure all LEE and ISA learners are aware of the resources that are available. A huge thank you to the English teachers from both LEE and ISA that prioritized library visits!

Hispanic and Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrating Hispanic and Latinx Heritage (September 15 - October 15): The LEE Library has NEW fiction titles on display that represent a variety of Latinx authors and their stories. These titles represent a diversity of genres in order to provide readers with a wide variety. Please stop by to see what we have available! We welcome suggestions and requests!

Digital Citizenship Week: Resources for Teachers & Students


Digital Citizenship Week is October 18-22: How can educators help students proactively navigate the consumption of and interaction with digital content? Common Sense Education suggests that educators follow these 3 steps during Digital Citizenship Week (find more information and resources to support each of these steps using this link):


1. Engage students with daily activities


2. Promote digital citizenship in your community


3. Build your digital citizenship roadmap


Are you a teacher or counselor that would like more professional development in the area of digital citizenship? Common Sense Education is offering interactive workshops that are FREE to attend. Take a look at the free professional development events offered at the beginning of October.

Curriculum & Instruction Support for Teachers

Teacher Choice Opportunity: Discovery Education

Mark your calendar! LEE Librarian Rachel McDevitt and Science Dean Megan Castro will co-facilitate a Discovery Education teacher training (eligible for teacher choice) on Wednesday, November 3. The training will show teachers how to take advantage of new features to enhance their instruction and increase engagement.
