Weekly Dolphin Blast

Week of January 22, 2023

Hello Dolphin Families!

I hope that all of our families have had a wonderful weekend. We have another busy week ahead and are excited to kick off Kindness Week tomorrow, Monday, January 23rd! Our goal for this week will be to throw kindness like confetti in hopes that our students will see the power that being kind to others can have! Each day this week we will have a spirit day and more information about this week's activities and the spirit day themes can be found below.

This week, our students and staff will engage in learning with I Love a Clean San Diego and the City of Carlsbad as LCM will be launching our School Lunchtime Sorting Program. This program will teach our students the value of reducing, reusing, recycling, and composting. We are excited to launch this program and to do our part to be more Earth friendly on campus!

As I've shared previously, the social emotional and mental health needs of our students are a site focus this school year. We are very fortunate to have a parent in our community who is well versed in ways to support the social emotional needs and development of our students in ways that are rooted in brain research. Mrs. Kiley Wheel, LCM parent and Director of Brain Highways, has graciously offered to donate her time to provide a learning opportunity for our families. Mark your calendars for this Parent Education opportunity which will be held on Thursday, February 9th from 6 - 7 PM in our multi-purpose room. More information on this exciting learning opportunity can be found below. This is a evening you don't want to miss out on!

We're looking forward to another week of learning!

With Dolphin pride,

Mrs. Bedard
